Engagement photography gallery

I'll typically arrange a meeting with the couple some time before the wedding for a less formal engagement portrait shoot. The photographs can be taken in a location of your choice. This pre-wedding shoot has many benefits, including getting the couple comfortable with being photographed, providing a great set of professional images to keep, and crucially, the photos can be used to design invitations, slideshows and programmes for the ceremony itself. For more information on the design of the wedding stationary, see the Invitation and programme page. Here are a few examples from recent shoots.

Jo & Jamie

Jo and Jamie's shoot was slightly unusual in that it took place in the middle of November. So while the weather was slightly colder than I'd usually be used to, it did offer a chance to have a lot of fun with the autumn colours at a beautiful location in South London. The cold weather actually helped us to have the entire park to ourselves, which produced some really stunning, intimate shots.

Andrew & Chantelle

Andrew and Chantelle's shoot provided two very different moods; for the first half we captured some intimate shots in a studio setting, but we then moved to some more open spaces in Battersea Park. The two environments produced a really interesting mix of images, both natural and posed, which really captured the personalities of the couple.

Laith & Kashia

Laith and Kashia's shoot took place on a bright day in Hyde Park. As Laith is a graphic designer by trade, it was a great chance to experiment with some unusual angles that would be specifically tailored to work well in the wedding programme design. They also had a strong 1920s theme which ran throughout the wedding day as well.

Darren & Katie

For me this day was the ultimate proof that terrible weather doesn't have to be an obstacle to capturing a great set of photos. The day that I arranged to meet Darren and Katie, it was pouring with rain. But with some amazing locations around central London (and creative poses with umbrellas) we managed to capture a great selection of shots. It also helps when the couple have such great chemistry.

Dean & Dorling

Dean and Dorling's engagement shoot provided a perfect opportunity to play with the changing light at dusk. Taken on Hampstead Heath, we were able to experiment with really striking images such as the unusual composition of the couple silhouetted against the London skyline on Parliament Hill.
